Field Testing Buffer Pool Extension and In-Memory OLTP Features in SQL SERVER 2014
SQL Server 2014 ships with powerful new features that can really take your performance to the next level: In-Memory OLTP (Codename "Hekaton") and the Buffer Pool Extension (BPE). In-Memory OLTP unleashes today’s powerful processors and removes the roadblocks to new heights in performance. BPE takes advantage of lightning-fast storage (in the form of Solid State Storage) to effectively and economically expand the amount of usable memory for the system.

Big Data Infrastructure for Batch and Real Time Data Processing
Making scalable, cost effective and high performance infrastructure is very crucial for big data as it can impact data processing algorithms. So here we will talk more on infrastructure architecture rather than any particular data processing algorithms. As we know all Big Data refers to massive amount of data that needs to be processed for many reasons like finding patterns, suggestions, graph plotting etc. All these reasons have different sets of processing and storage requirements. So we will talk how we can met all these requirements in single infrastructure. We also see how we can handle ever growing dataset more cost effectively. Additionally we also see how we can stream real time data through our big data processing algorithms. As a bonus we also see message search architecture of messaging system developed by TekTak Nepal.
Presenter: Dipak Malla
Dipak Malla is senior Big Data Engineer at TekTak Nepal having experience in Big Data and distributed computing. At TekTak Nepal he has designed and implemented message storage architecture with hadoop, hbase, spark, lucene and akka tool kit. He has also developed distributed message queuing and routing system with java and scala. He has also implemented service oriented architecture using thrift. Beside this he has also written distributed file server in c and c++ for storing and distributing message attachments across several nodes. He has also designed and developed server and service monitoring system in java and python. Currently he is engaged in developing distributed http file server to serve files. He has development experience in programming language java, scala, c, c++, python, c#, php and javascript. Overall he has 5+ years of experience.
